No. Logging an activation, tracking your Year points and Kit checklist, and exporting ADIF or CSV all work fully offline. The only feature that needs a connection is opening a summit's official reference page inside the app.
Open the activation's close-out screen, or a summit's activation history, and choose Export. Four Contacts writes a standard ADIF file and a SOTA-format CSV, ready to upload once you're home.
That reflects the SOTA activator rule: a summit only earns its points once four contacts with four different stations have been logged there in the same activation.
It is the summit's height minus 25 vertical metres. Four Contacts compares that figure against your device's GPS altitude and its reported accuracy, or against a reading you type in from your own altimeter, so you can see whether you are high enough on the hill for the activation to count.
No. Four Contacts is deliberately a logbook only — it has no spotting network, no live radio control, and no map downloads.
Yes. The Year screen has a separate chase log for contacts you make from home, counted toward Shack Sloth.
